Students' resolve to revive students' movement in the state

Lucknow 14th June. State level student cadre meeting was organized today at Lucknow. Students from all corners of the state representing all renowned academic campuses of Uttar Pradesh participated.

Addressing the meeting, AISF General Secretary Abhay Taksal recalled the glorious history of AISF and discussed the present day crisis of the student’s movement. He called upon the students' community of the Uttar Pradesh to come forward and build a strong & vibrant AISF in the state of Uttar Pradesh and connect the students’ movement of Uttar Pradesh with that of other states & other countries.

Addressing the gathering, CPI State Secretary and once upon a time a leader of AISF Dr Girish said that till eighties, there was no place of pistols & bombs in the students’ movement of the country. Students’ movement was dominated by mighty AISF whose motto is “Study & Struggle”. Later on, capitalist forces polluted the movement and common students preferred to distance from the students’ organization and successive capitalist Governments at centre & states commercialized the education because of no opposition in the academic campuses. He emphasized the need of strong students’ movement in the state under the banner of AISF.

Seven participants participated in the discussions and described the problems faced by them in their day-to-day campus life. They felt the need of strong student's movement in the state.

The meeting constituted an adhoc committee to re-organise AISF in the state and decided to meet again in July to chalk further course of action for spread & strengthening of AISF in the whole state. Next meeting shall also discuss to host the platinum jubilee celebrations at historical Ganga Prasad Memorial Hall, which hosted the foundation conference under the presidentship of Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru in 1936.

The meeting was also addressed by Labour leader Arvind Raj Swarup, left journalist Pradeep Tewari and the General Secretary of AIPSO Dr Anand Tewari. All three were leaders of AISF during seventies.

On the occasion, blog of AISF U.P. "aisfup.blogspot.com" was also released.
